MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Western countries never stop clinging to their waning hegemony, it is necessary to put a reliable legal barrier to new attempts to revive the system of colonialism, said Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin.
"Today, it would be historically fair to assess the damage inflicted on all of humanity by Western European colonial empires. Even today, these states do not stop clinging to their elusive hegemony," Naryshkin, who is also Chairman of the Russian Historical Society, told a round table dedicated to the history of the struggle against colonialism.
"Based on historical facts, it is necessary to put a reliable legal safeguard to new attempts to reinstate the system of colonialism, and ideally even seek fair compensation for damage, using all international platforms for this."
