MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The United Kingdom’s supplies of shells with depleted uranium to Ukraine is a major escalatory step, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday.
"The supplies announced by Great Britain, naturally, are the biggest escalatory step," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.
According to the senior Russian diplomat, London obviously wanted to frighten Moscow. "But this did not happen and will never happen," he stressed.
According to Ryabkov, the British "are only harming themselves." "Obviously, they are doing harm to their clients in Kiev, as they are ignoring the obvious grave consequences of the hypothetical use of such munitions on the battlefield," he said. "They are showing their hand; this proves that this country continues to up the ante. In the end, it will backfire on them. We will not let Russia be defeated. And all the goals of the special military operation will be achieved without fail".
