Russia’s UN ambassador asks US not to mislead humanity regarding causes of food crisis

The misleading statement is that Russia is to blame for the food crisis

UNITED NATIONS, May 26. /TASS/. The United States should stop misleading the world public regarding the causes of the world food crisis and cancel the unilateral sanctions that impede the delivery of food, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, said at a meeting of the UN Security Council, devoted to the situation in the Middle East, including Palestine.

"It is regrettable that a number of our Western colleagues do not shy away from other far-fetched tales in their efforts to divert the attention of the world community from those who sabotage the Palestinian-Israeli settlement," he said.

"Once again we have heard the US representative tell an utterly out-of-place and rather hackneyed tale that Russia is to blame for the food crisis. We are asking you to stop misleading everyone and to lift the imposed sanctions that hinder the delivery of food, and the world will heave a sigh of relief," Nebenzya said.
