Kiev’s army command prods rural residents to front, while city dwellers pay them off — POW

The captive Ukrainian soldier also mentioned that during combat other Ukrainian units began to retreat without warning, which was evident from radio communications

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The command of the Ukrainian armed forces is mobilizing primarily residents of rural areas to go to the front to take part in hostilities, while urban dwellers generally seek to avoid military service by paying bribes and escaping abroad, captive Ukrainian soldier Vadim Otroshevsky said in a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The command doesn't think about soldiers at all. They think about themselves, about their children in order to send them abroad somewhere as quickly as possible, so that they are not taken to where we are. It is the rural population mostly that is being driven to the frontline, being prodded to fight in the war, while city residents, who have more money, are able 'to grease palms to get off the hook' and then 'skedaddle' abroad, so that they end up not having to fight at all," Otroshevsky said.

He also mentioned that during combat other Ukrainian units posted nearby began to retreat without warning, which was evident from radio communications. The captive Ukrainian armed forces fighter himself surrendered voluntarily to Russian forces.
