MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. The situation for the Ukrainian army around Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) is most critical, Vadim Skibitsky, the deputy chief of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, has said.

"Currently, the most critical front is where Russia is concentrating its primary efforts - the Donetsk Region, particularly the southwestern part of Donetsk, including Pokrovsk and the entire agglomeration of our communities. If successful, the Russians could continue their offensive operations in various directions," he said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. "This includes the Dnepropetrovsk Region and Kramatorsk and Slavyansk in the north."

Earlier, Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, said that Kiev’s forces were trying to counterattack in the areas of Krasnoarmeysk and Dzerzhinsk. Russian forces are keeping the situation under control.
