TORZHOK /Tver Region/, March 28. /TASS/. Russia’s special military operation is geared to defend its people living in its historical territories, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"What are we doing during the special military operation? We are defending our people living in our historical territories," he said at a meeting with military pilots in the Tver Region.

The president stressed that Russia’s goal is only to defend its people in its territories. That is why, in his words, any allegations about Russia’s plans to invade Europe after Ukraine are senseless.
