Russian President Vladimir Putin is looking forward to welcoming United Arab Emirates President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the BRICS summit that is set to take place in Kazan in the fall of 2024, as the Russian leader himself said during talks with his UAE counterpart.

"I am very pleased to see that the United Arab Emirates is beginning its work in the BRICS system. Russia will chair the organization in 2024," Putin noted.

"We will maintain contact on this track. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the [BRICS] summit in October next year," the Russian head of state said, addressing the UAE president.
