ISTANBUL, December 12. /TASS/. The decision on construction projects of nuclear power plants (NPP) in Sinop and Thrace will be made next year, Energy Minister of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar said.
"In 2025, we plan to make the final decision on projects of NPPs in Sinop and in Thrace," the minister said on the site of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction. The broadcast was by TRT Haber television.
Turkish authorities said earlier that they are holding talks on NPP construction projects in the Black Sea province of Sinop and in Thrace in the European part of the country, with Russia and South Korea in particular. The Akkuyu NPP is the first nuclear power plant in Turkey being construction by the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom.
