Russian hydroelectric giant foresees promising air-to-water technologies for Africa

Sergey Machekhin cited the technology of producing water from dry air concentration as an example

MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Russian technologies for standalone drinking water provision can be efficiently employed in Africa, Deputy CEO of RusHydro Sergey Machekhin said at the Russian Energy Week forum.

An enormous amount of people in Africa have no access to drinking water, the top manager noted. "This is a critical problem that should be solved through collaborative efforts. To this end, we offer several Russian technologies, which, according to estimates and African consumers, are very effective and are superior to American and French technologies," Machekhin stressed.

The top manager cited the technology of producing water from dry air concentration as an example. "Such units can provide up to 1,000 liters of pure water per day without electricity consumption," he added.
