Russia says militants prepare provocation using roving mortars in Sumy Region

They are planning to shell the border territory of the Russian Federation in order to provoke return fire on residential dwellings where local residents are being held, head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Mikhail Mizintsev revealed

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Mikhail Mizintsev, head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, on Thursday said the Kiev regime is preparing a provocation using roving mortars in the Sumy Region to provoke return fire toward residential buildings.

"According to the available reliable operational information, the Kiev regime is preparing another sophisticated provocation using the so-called roving mortars in the city of Seredina-Buda of the Sumy Region," he said. "The militants of the nationalist battalions are planning to shell the border territory of the Russian Federation from the areas of standalone houses in order to provoke return fire on residential dwellings where local residents are being held."

He stated that the Kiev government is planning to use this cynical move in the near future to accuse Russian troops of allegedly indiscriminate strikes against civilians, which is to be followed by wide coverage in Ukrainian and Western media, as well as across the Internet.
