Netanyahu condemns Hezbollah’s shelling attack as blatant ceasefire violation

The IDF reported that Hezbollah had fired two projectiles toward the area of Mout Dov in northern Israel

TEL AVIV, December 2. /TASS/. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the shelling attack on an area near Mount Dov in northern Israel by Hezbollah militants as a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and warned about "forceful" response.

"Hezbollah fire at Mt. Dov constitutes a severe violation of the ceasefire, and Israel will respond forcefully," his office quoted him as saying.

"We are determined to continue enforcing the ceasefire and will respond to every Hezbollah violation - minor and major," he warned.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported earlier that Hezbollah had fired two projectiles toward the area of Mout Dov in northern Israel. "The projectiles fell in open areas. No injuries are reported," it said.

The agreement on the first ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon since hostilities flared up in October 2023 took effect on the morning of November 27. US President Joe Biden announced that the agreements between the Jewish state and Hezbollah provided for the re-establishment of the Lebanese army and state security forces’ control of the country’s territory within 60 days. After that, the Israeli army will be gradually pulled out of Lebanon.
