The countries of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have called for holding an international conference on the settlement of the situation in the Gaza Strip in the near future, according to the final statement following the joint summit of the two organizations.

"We call for the holding of an international conference on the peaceful settlement in the near future. Through it, we will be able to start a peace process based on international law and the principle of ‘peace for territories’ within a certain timeframe and with international guarantees. The latter will put an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1967," the statement said.
