Russia reports 5,814 COVID-19 recoveries in the past day

MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 4,710 over the past day to 18,293,450, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

In relative terms, the number of cases increased by 0.03%.

As many as 1,054 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, 46.5% fewer than in the previous day. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 69 regions, while in 14 other regions the figure increased.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases increased by 278 over the past day versus 337 a day earlier, reaching 2,768,176, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 318 over the past day versus 339 a day earlier, reaching 1,526,922.

Recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 5,814 over the past day, reaching 17,688,903, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

The share of patients discharged from hospitals has risen to 96.7% of the total number of those infected.

A day earlier 6,288 patients recovered.

Deaths

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll rose by 80 over the past day to 378,350, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

A day earlier 102 COVID-19 deaths were registered.

The average mortality rate went down to 2.07%, according to the crisis center.
