MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. The parliaments of France, Great Britain and Germany must do everything to bring to justice those who plan to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"We believe that our colleagues from the parliaments of France, Great Britain and Germany should, for their part, try to do everything to conduct a parliamentary investigation and bring to justice those who violated the law," Volodin told reporters.
He said that since there is a ban on nuclear weapons proliferation, this constitutes a criminal offense.
"And not only for the international community, but also for the people of a particular country, because it violates the laws of the states that have such weapons," Volodin added.
He said France and Great Britain began to make "clumsy attempts" to explain their actions. "The information is reliable, so let's assume that a tragedy that could have occurred has been prevented. For our part, understanding the responsibility, we need to do everything to prevent it in the future," he concluded.
Earlier, the State Duma adopted a draft appeal to the parliaments of Great Britain, France and Germany, the European Parliament and the United Nations, calling for preventing a possible nuclear conflict and investigating the information about plans to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine.
