MOSCOW, June 13. /TASS/. New confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia grew by 14,723 in the past 24 hours, registering a 50% increase since the start of the week and a new high since February 13, the federal anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

The coronavirus growth rate equaled 0.28%. Overall, 5,208,687 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus in Russia since the start of the pandemic, the latest data show.

A day before, Russia registered a new high of 13,510 coronavirus cases since February 15.

Coronavirus recoveries in Russia increased by 9,166 in the past 24 hours to 4,801,335, the crisis center reported.

The share of patients discharged from hospitals upon their recovery decreased to 92.2% of all infections, it said.

Coronavirus deaths in Russia grew by 357 in the past 24 hours compared to 399 a day before to 126,430, the crisis center reported.

The coronavirus death rate remained unchanged at 2.43%, the latest data show.

Coronavirus cases in Moscow increased by 7,704 in the past 24 hours, registering the highest level since December 24 last year, the crisis center reported.

Over the week, the daily coronavirus growth rate in the Russian capital increased by over 100%. Overall, 1,234,717 coronavirus cases have been registered in Moscow since the start of the pandemic, the latest data show.

Moscow’s coronavirus growth rate equaled 0.63%. A day before, Moscow identified 6,701 new coronavirus cases, the figures indicate.

Sixty-nine coronavirus patients died at Moscow hospitals in the past day, registering a new high since February 9 and bringing fatalities in the Russian capital to 20,907, the latest data suggest.
