MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Russia currently does not maintain any communication with the US about Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, the Russian special presidential envoy for Afghanistan told TASS.
"No, it does not maintain," the said the diplomat, who is also director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department.
Earlier, Kabulov told TASS that Russia would continue to stay in contact with China, Iran and Pakistan about Afghanistan.
After the US announced in the spring of 2021 its decision to withdraw its armed forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban (banned in Russia) started a large-scale operation to take control of the country. On August 15, its forces entered Kabul meeting no resistance, and on September 7, it announced the makeup of the interim government, the legitimacy of which has not yet been recognized by any country. Many countries recalled their ambassadors from Afghanistan.
