Pakistan Stream pipeline construction to be main task for Moscow, Islamabad — Ministry

The discussion took place with the framework of the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Pakistan’s counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in China’s Tunxi

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Construction of the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline will be among priority tasks in building up relations between Moscow and Islamabad, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The discussion took place with the framework of the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Pakistan’s counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in China’s Tunxi. "Readiness was expressed to build up the multidiscipline bilateral interaction. The increase of the trade turnover and implementation of a range of projects in the energy sphere, including construction of the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline, were identified as priority tasks," the Ministry said.

Ministers exchanged opinions on international issues at the meeting and support was expressed to continuation of "diplomatic efforts on settlement of the crisis situation around Ukraine." The parties also touched on the topic of settlement in Afghanistan.
