Polyus to build Russia's largest gold recovery plant at Sukhoi Log field

The gold recovery rate is planned at 91%, higher than the group average in 2023

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Gold miner Polyus will build Russia's largest gold recovery plant at the Sukhoi Log goldfield, according to the company’s presentation.

The capacity of the new plant will be 34 million tons of ore, production will reach 2.3-2.8 million ounces of gold per year.

As the company notes, two lines of the plant in a single building will be built. The first and second lines will be launched in 2028 and in 2029 respectively.

The gold recovery rate is planned at 91%, higher than the group average in 2023 (83%).

Polyus noted that the company is currently in the active stage of building the factory and is working on internal and external infrastructure.

Since January 1, 2024, Sukhoi Log has been included in the register of regional investment projects, and benefits are provided for income tax and mineral extraction tax.

Located in the Bodaibo district of the Irkutsk region, Russia’s Siberia, the Sukhoi Log goldfield is one of the world’s largest gold goldfield. Its launch and full capacity will increase gold production in Russia by more than 20%, making the country a world leader, the company's presentation says.
