Hainan province launches new air cargo flight from Sanya to Kuala Lumpur — media

Shenzhen Airlines will operate the flights on this route

HAIKOU /China/, March 9. /TASS/. Air cargo flights have been launched on a new route between the cities of Sanya and Kuala Lumpur, according to the Hainan International Communication Network (HICN).

The first flight number ZH9322 took place on March 8. Shenzhen Airlines will perform flights on this route. En route from Sanya to Kuala Lumpur there will be a stopover in Shenzhen (southern Guangdong province). The first cargo flight from Sanya to Kuala Lumpur on March 8 delivered 1.8 tons of tuna fry.

According to the Sanya Phoenix International Airport Authority, the launch of the new flight amid coronavirus restrictions is of great significance to the increase in international cargo traffic of the air harbor.

Air freight is the main modes of transportation for international traffic in Hainan. Aviation plays a key role in building a free trade port in the province. As of July 1, 2020, the authorities reduced the price of aviation fuel for Chinese and foreign airlines at three airports in the province. These are Meilan Airport in Haikou, Phoenix Airport in Sanya and Bo’ao Airport in Qionghai City.

International passenger air travel has not yet been restored to the levels it saw before the COVID-19 pandemic.
