MURMANSK, January 28. /TASS/. A new resident of the Russian Federation’s Arctic Zone - the Arctic Marine Technologies Company jointly with the ANTEY Company will open a plant to process marine biological resources, crab included, the press service of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East said on Wednesday.
The plant, due to go into operation by late 2024, will produce up to 30 tonnes of products a day, the press service said.
"It will be Russia’s first high-technology full-production cycle plant to process crab and fish from the Barents Sea, and to manage biowaste," the press service quoted the Arctic Marine Technologies Company’s Director General Vladimir Krasnov as saying. "The plant will receive 7,270 tonnes of resources daily <...>. Up to 200 tonnes could be kept at the storage at a time; the plant will process up to 30 tonnes of crab daily."
The ANTEY Group of Companies is the founder of the project, which will be implemented in two stages. At first, near the Murmansk fish port, the group will build a production facility to process crab and fish, basins to keep living biological resources, a boiler plant and a multi-temperature automatic storage for 1,000 tonnes of processed products. Later on, facilities for biological waste processing and a garage will also emerge. The complex will occupy more than 8,500 square meters. It will enter service before the end of 2024.
The resident of the Russian Federation’s Arctic Zone’s will invest 1.5 billion rubles ($20 million) in the project. The project will offer 193 jobs. ANTEY’s fleet will be used for catching crab and fish. The new plant will focus mostly on export.
