CSTO plans to hold seven exercises in 2024, defense bloc’s general secretary says

The events will be held on the territory of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has planned seven joint combat exercises for 2024 to be held on the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said.

"An extensive program of joint combat training events has been prepared for 2024, a total of seven exercises are planned," the CSTO chief said at the meeting of the CSTO Council and the 16th plenary session of the organization’s Parliamentary Assembly (PA). He pointed out that the events "will be held on the territory of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan."

Tasmagambetov explained that the exercises will involve the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force, the Collective Rapid Reaction Force of the Central Asian region, the CSTO peacekeeping forces, intelligence and logistics forces and equipment, and the leadership and special formations of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force.
