Russia suggests adding data on biosecurity outside country to confidence-building measures

According to Igor Kirillov, Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the RF Armed Forces, the proposal also applies to facilities for the production of vaccines for animals

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Russia proposes that confidence-building measures be complemented by statistics on biosecurity research and development outside the country, Chief of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov said on Saturday ahead of the Ninth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

"In response to new challenges and dangers, the Russian Federation suggests the following <…> confidence-building methods should be complemented with information about biological defense research and development outside of national boundaries, as well as animal vaccine production facilities," he said.
