Armenian PM describes visit to Russia as very successful

Nikol Pashinyan noted that specific agreements were reached in all areas

YEREVAN, April 2. /TASS/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called his April 1 visit to Russia very successful.

"We have reached concrete agreements on all areas of our agenda, starting with culture and ending with military-technical cooperation. I assess the visit as very successful," he told reporters.

Pashinyan also said he sees no threats in the statements made by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk in an interview with TASS, noting that Moscow and Yerevan exchanged views on bilateral relations as part of a "normal working process."

"I don't see any threats in these statements, and there are also no threats in what we have said. This is a normal workflow where the parties present their positions. I reiterate that they consider this visit to be very successful, as we have reached specific agreements in all areas. And this is the next stage in the development of our relations, which proceeds in a natural course," Pashinyan said when asked whether he sees Overchuk's statements made after the talks between the leaders of Armenia and Russia as threats against Yerevan.

Earlier Overchuk presented Russia’s detailed position on almost the entire range of relations with Armenia. Among the topics discussed are the concession for Armenian railways, unblocking regional communications and rail transportation through Azerbaijan and Georgia, cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, hostile EU actions in the region, the construction of a new nuclear power plant, the Trump Route project and other issues.
