Ukraine to suggest plan of European military deployment within 7-10 days

At the same time, Zelensky admitted that the question of Ukraine’s NATO membership is out of discussion

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Within the next seven or ten days, Ukraine will present its basic strategy on the deployment of European troops in Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky told reporters after negotiations in Paris.

"Ukraine will come up with an algorithm for dialogue. This will happen within the next seven or ten days, the meeting that [French] President [Emmanuel] Macron was talking about," he said. "We will unveil the basic strategy."

Zelensky said he had received "many proposals from [European] leaders, and their number is growing."

"Some are ready to assist in the skies, some offer air defense, some suggest boots on the ground, some are ready to deploy their contingent at sea," he added.

At the same time, Zelensky admitted that the question of Ukraine’s NATO membership is out of discussion.

"We have to admit it. Discussions on NATO are not particularly active," he added.

However, Zelensky claimed that European leaders offered him support in keeping the Ukrainian armed forces strong.

Ukrainian troop deployment plans

On March 20, the military leaders of about 30 Western countries of the so-called coalition of the willing met in London to discuss operational details of sending troops to Ukraine after the conflict was resolved. On the same day, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the kingdom was developing plans for military land, sea, and air operations in Ukraine to ensure compliance with the peace deal.

Earlier, British media reported that London and Paris hope to form a "peacekeeping corps" numbering from 10,000 to 30,000 troops allegedly to ensure a peace agreement on Ukraine. At the same time, it was noted that as part of the settlement, British Air Force fighters can patrol the airspace of Ukraine, taking off from Poland.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on March 12 that the presence of NATO troops under any flag and in any capacity on Ukrainian soil is a threat to Russia. According to him, Moscow will not accept this under any circumstances.
