US envoy to Russia to pay special attention to dialogue between two nations — embassy

Today, Ambassador Lynne Tracy had her first meeting in the Russian Foreign Ministry, where she met with Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy will pay special attention to the maintenance of the dialogue between Washington and Moscow and ties between the people of the two nations, the US embassy in Moscow said after the meeting that took place in the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday.

"Today, Ambassador Lynne Tracy had her first meeting in the Russian Foreign Ministry, where she met with Deputy Foreign Minister [Sergey] Ryabkov. Ambassador Tracy pays special attention to the maintenance of the dialogue between the capitals of our countries during the period of unprecedented tensions, to protection of interests of US citizens detained in Russia, as well as to maintenance of connections between American and Russian people," the embassy said on its Telegram channel.

Tracy spent about half an hour inside the ministry. She was supposed to present copies of her letters of credence to Ryabkov during the meeting.

Tracy is the first woman to serve as US envoy in Russia. She is a career diplomat and previously headed that US diplomatic mission in Armenia.
