Putin orders to help families of those killed by fires in Krasnoyarsk region - spokesman

According to updates, seven people died, 17 were injured and 14 more hospitalized as a result of wildfires raging in the region

MOSCOW, May 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been briefed about firefighting measures by Krasnoyarsk Regional Governor Alexander Uss and Acting Emergencies Minister Alexander Chupriyan, he commissioned them to help the families of those killed and also those who lost their homes, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Saturday.

"Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region [Alexander] Uss informed the Russian president about the situation with wildfires and the measures taken to eliminate the consequences and to prevent a possible deterioration of the situation," he said.

"Vladimir Putin also listened to the report of Acting Emergencies Minister [Alexander] Chupriyan and commissioned him to take all measures to help the families of those killed in wildfires, as well as those who lost their homes in the spreading fires," Peskov said.

According to updates, seven people died, 17 were injured and 14 more hospitalized as a result of wildfires raging in the region. A total of 484 buildings were damaged. The Emergencies Ministry reported that all the fires have been contained, which means that the threat of their spread has been minimized.
