Russian senior diplomat discusses settlement of crises in Africa with Benin’s ambassador

It is noted that the sides discussed some issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Benin in trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas, as well as preparations to holding the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg this year

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Benin’s Ambassador to Moscow Akambi Andre Okunlola-Biau discussed issues related to settlement of crisis situations in Africa at a meeting on Thursday.

"During the conversation the parties shared views on relevant international and regional issues with the focus on the settlement of crisis situations on the African continent. Meanwhile, the intention of Moscow and Cotonou to deepen the political dialogue and coordination of positions in the UN and other multisided entities was confirmed," according to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The sides discussed some issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Benin in trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas, as well as preparations to holding the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg this year, the ministry added.
