UNITED NATIONS, January 20. /TASS/. It is becoming ever more difficult for the West to overlook the scale of Kiev’s crimes, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on Friday.
"In recent months, it has become ever more difficult to overlook the scale of Kiev’s crimes even for Western nations and mass media," he said at an Arria-formula meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine’s shelling attacks in Donbass organized by the Russian side.
"But how do they explain this? They are citing two ‘arguments,’" Nebenzya said. "First, casualties and damage are reported on both sides and these are the deplorable consequences of the ongoing armed conflict. But Russia is being accused of more high-profile tragedies with numerous casualties among civilians, or, to be more precise, the ones that were highlighted in the Western media more extensively."
Foreign media footage of Ukrainian strikes on civilian facilities in Donbass, including videos of what was happening in Donbass before February 2022, were shown during the meeting.
