MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Russia cannot stay out of problems in neighboring Abkhazia and will help it with electricity supplies, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday, speaking about the results of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin with elected Abkhazian leader Badra Gunba.
"Prompt help is needed from Russia to urgently organize continuation of electricity flows," Peskov said. "This is related to cold weather in mountains. No snow thawing and the hydropower plant does not receive the sufficient water volume, no internal generation - purely climatic features," the Kremlin Spokesman said.
"Russia cannot stay out in this emergency and power supplies will continue," Peskov stressed.
The meeting yesterday was "quite substantial and positive" in general, the presidential press secretary noted. "It was very substantive: many issues are on the agenda," Peskov added.
