Namibia plans joint projects on green energy, oil with Russia — minister

During the meeting the sides will have the possibility to consider issues of cooperation for its further strengthening in such areas as trade, investment, agriculture, fishing industry, mining, energy sector, education, healthcare, Peya Mushelenga said

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Namibia plans to implement joint projects in the areas of green hydrogen and oil with Russia, Namibian Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, co-chair of the intergovernmental Russian-Namibian commission Peya Mushelenga said.

"Namibia has been consistently taking efforts on implementation of projects in the area of sustainable energy and green hydrogen. Moreover, our oil reserves can be called considerable, and together with partners Namibia is conducting a further assessment of the volume of resources. The success of our projects depends on international cooperation and interaction, on participation of such partners as Russia. In this respect I urge to continue efforts on strengthening the existing cooperation between countries in the areas of oil and green hydrogen," he said when opening the 10th meeting of the Russian-Namibian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

During the meeting the sides will have the possibility to consider issues of cooperation for its further strengthening in such areas as trade, investment, agriculture, fishing industry, mining, energy sector, education, healthcare, the minister said. "Moreover, at this session we can unravel new cooperation areas," he added.

The Namibian delegation has prepared a list of potential investors, which it will present to the Russian side on the sidelines of the intergovernmental commission, the official noted.
