The authorities of the LPR and DPR also adopted programs for the socio-economic development of the Donbass republics for 2022-2024

DONETSK/LUGANSK, September 15. /TASS/. The heads of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR) Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin signed an agreement on the creation of a single customs territory and the development of economic integration on Wednesday, the Luganskinformcenter agency reported. The signing ceremony was held during a video conference.

The agreement on the creation of the single customs zone and economic integration will make it possible to improve the quality of people’s lives in the two republics, Leonid Pasechnik said.

"Today is an important day for our republics. Today, as part of the agreements we reached earlier we are signing an agreement on the creation of the single customs territory and development of economic integration," Pasechnik said as quoted by the agency.

The head of the LPR said that after the signing of this agreement the parties would face a huge task in unifying the two legislations.

"Of course, when taking such decisions, we have to take into consideration the interest of our producers, representatives of small, medium and large businesses," he stressed.

In turn, head of DPR Denis Pushilin noted that the republics of Donbass will solve joint tasks.

"It [the agreement — TASS] sets our joint guidelines and is aimed at the strengthening of our mutually beneficial and equal cooperation," Pushilin said as quoted by the news agency.

On September 6, Pushilin and Pasechnik announced that the LPR and DPR would create a single economic and customs space in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The authorities of the LPR and DPR also adopted programs for the socio-economic development of the Donbass republics for 2022-2024.
