Seven Ukrainian troops surrender to Russia’s Battlegroup West over past day

According to the report, in counterbattery warfare, six field artillery guns, including two US-made 155mm M198 howitzers and six mortar teams were destroyed

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Seven Ukrainian troops laid down their arms and surrendered in the zone of responsibility of Russia’s Battlegroup West over the past 24 hours, Battlegroup West Spokesman Ivan Bigma told TASS on Monday.

"Seven Ukrainian troops have surrendered," he said.

Bigma added that enemy’s losses in that frontline area over the past 24 hours amounted up to 230 personnel, a Soviet-made T-72 tank, an M-577 armored personnel carrier, a US-manufactured HMMWV armored vehicle, seven motor vehicles.

In counterbattery warfare, six field artillery guns, including two US-made 155mm M198 howitzers and six mortar teams were also destroyed. In addition, the enemy lost an electronic warfare station, a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counterbattery radar station, four Starlink satellite antennae, 22 UAV control posts and two field ammunition depots.

Backed by the artillery, heavy flamethrower systems and aviation, Battlegroup West units improved their frontline positions and advanced deep into the enemy’s defenses inflicting damage on manpower and equipment of two mechanized, a mountain assault brigade, a tank brigade, an assault brigade, a territorial defense brigade of the Ukrainian army near the settlements of Shiikovka, Zapadnoye, Kirovsk, Novomikhailovka, Nadiya and Kupyansk.
