MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the advisability of creating a presidential fund for environmental and nature conservation projects. The document has been published on the portal of legal acts.
"I hereby decree - to consider it appropriate to create a presidential fund for environmental and nature conservation projects," the document says.
"To establish that the founder of the fund is the Fund - the operator of presidential grants for the development of civil society." In 2025-2027, the fund will be provided with 1 billion rubles ($10.3 mln) in grants annually.
The goals of the new fund are the support for environmental projects and provision of grants to them based on the results of competitions, the development of programs for the protection of the environment and animals, and the organization of volunteer work in this area.
By the same decree, the head of state approved the regulations on the Coordination Committee for the support of environmental and nature conservation projects, headed by the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko. His deputies will be the special representative of the head of state for environmental protection and transport Sergey Ivanov and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
