MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Moscow will come up with a mirror response in case London decides to rev up escalations following the expulsion of a British diplomat from Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"In case London decides to escalate the situation, the Russian side will immediately come up with a mirror response," the statement reads.
The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) reported earlier that the second secretary of the political department of the UK Embassy in Moscow, Wilkes Edward Pryor, who replaced one of the six British intelligence officers expelled from Russia in August of this year undercover, has also been stripped of his accreditation. He has been ordered to leave Russia within a two-week period of time.
British Ambassador to Moscow Nigel Casey was summoned earlier in the day by the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a note of protest over the reported intelligence activities of a British diplomatic mission’s employee.
