Russia to use all tools at disposal to respond to confiscation of assets — Kremlin

Western countries have repeatedly raised the question of using seized Russian assets, right up to their confiscation, to help Ukraine

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia will employ all available measure to retaliate to the West's confiscation of its assets, short of stooping to its level, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing.

"We will use all possible judicial mechanisms - those that are available now, and as they (new mechanisms - TASS) appear in the future, we will use those ones then. On the basis of reciprocity, we will - not in a tit-for-tat way, but to the extent that this corresponds with our interests - choose other methods of response," he said.

Western countries have repeatedly raised the question of using seized Russian assets, right up to their confiscation, to help Ukraine. A two-day EU summit opening on Thursday will discuss the possibility of transferring the revenues made from Russian assets to Kiev. Presumably these funds will be used to purchase weapons.
