MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The Foreign Ministers of the Caspian littoral states are set to meet in Moscow on December 5 as part of a new regular ministerial dialogue. The meeting, chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, will be also attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The sides are set to discuss regional issues of mutual interest with a focus on the priorities for the development of the Caspian cooperation.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that the event launches a new regular dialog of foreign ministers. The diplomat also added that a number of bilateral meetings between Lavrov and his colleagues are scheduled on the sidelines of the Foreign Ministers' Council meeting.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov met on August 18 with the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to Russia and they discussed the expansion of cooperation within the Caspian P5 format, as well as preparations for the upcoming meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Moscow.
