MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. The West’s unpredictability precludes accurately forecasting the future prospects for fostering cooperation in various formats, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, replying to a question on whether Russia intends to expand its involvement in international organizations in which Western countries also participate. The Kremlin official said: "Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Events sometimes unfold in such an unpredictable way and the stance of the collective West on various issues is mutating in such an unexpected way that we are rather limited in our capabilities for forecasting anything."
"We are still interested in fostering good relations with everyone, and this is precisely what we are doing with those countries that are ready to reciprocate," Peskov added.
The question was triggered by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent appearance at an online G20 summit as well as the anticipated participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a ministerial council meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in North Macedonia.
The OSCE foreign ministers’ meeting will convene in Skopje on November 30-December 1.
