DONETSK, September 23. /TASS/. The acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, was elected to the post by the DPR parliament on Saturday, according to a statement read by parliament speaker Artyom Zhoga, a TASS correspondent reported.

Pushilin took the oath of office shortly after, the correspondent said.

After that, those present in the hall observed a minute of silence in the memory of the region’s first head, Alexander Zakharchenko, who was killed by a Ukrainian sabotage squad in late August 2018.
