SEOUL, October 30. /TASS/. South Korean authorities confirmed that at least 151 people, including 19 foreign nationals, were killed in a stampede in the Itaewon district in downtown Seoul during Halloween celebrations, the News 1 agency reported on Sunday citing the emergency services.
Out of 82 of those injured, 19 are in serious condition. Earlier, 149 fatalities and 76 casualties were reported.
Seoul’s authorities received 355 messages about people missing following the incident.
According to police estimates, about 100,000 people poured into a jam-packed narrow street in Itaewon on Saturday. The district, located near a US military base, is popular with young people as an area with numerous bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
