MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Global gold demand edged up by 1% in 2024 compared with 2023 to 4,974 tons, the World Gold Council (WGC) said in a report.
Gold demand in Q4 2024 also added 1% year-on-year to 1,297.4 tons. Last year's global gold output remained roughly at the level of 2023 and amounted to 3,661.2 tons, according to the report.
The price of gold hit fresh all-time highs 40 times in 2024, with the average annual price of gold standing at $2,386 per ounce last year, the report said.
