Tokayev notes necessity of developing oil and gas projects of Kazakhstan, Russia

Special attention was also paid to transport and transit sector, the Kazakh president pointed out

ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev considers it important to develop joint oil and gas projects with Russia.

"We discussed cooperation in the energy sector, as well as the implementation of major oil and gas projects. Further development of the project on supplies of Russian gas in southern directions, as well as an increase in volumes of transit of Russian oil to China via Kazakhstan, seem important," he said following the talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

During the talks the sides noted the importance of sustainable functioning of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Tokayev added.

Special attention was also paid to transport and transit sector, he noted. "We agreed to undertake efforts on coordinated development of transport corridors running on the territory of our countries," the Kazakh president said.
