MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Russia became the top supplier of crude oil to China and India as of the end of February 2023, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said in its April report.
Russia provides for 19% of total Chinese oil imports in February. Saudi Arabia accounted for 14% of supplies and Iraq for 12%. Total oil imports by China gained 4% month on month in February to 10.7 mln barrels per day.
Russian oil covered 38% of total Indian oil imports in February, OPEC said, citing Kpler analytical firm data. About 20% were supported by Iraq, 8% by Saudi Arabia and 5% by the US. Total Indian imports moved up by 5% in monthly terms in February 2023 to records high 5 mln barrels a day.
