Putin says army’s current top priority to train, equip draftees

The defense minister informed the president that 300,000 people had been called up for the special military operation

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has singled out the task of equipping and training mobilized troops as well as coordinating their operation as the top priority at the moment, he said at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu on Friday.

"At present, the most important thing is the outfit, training and cohesion [of our troops]. And everything to do with making people feel confident if they have to take part directly in combat," Putin said.

The defense minister informed the president that 300,000 people had been called up for the special military operation. Thus, the designated mobilization target has been met and no other additional ones are being planned. Military units will be reinforced only by recruiting volunteers and contract soldiers.
