TEL AVIV, November 28. /TASS/. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has confirmed the release of 11 Israelis held hostage by Palestinian radicals in the Gaza Strip.
"The Government of Israel embraces our 11 citizens who were held hostage who returned to Israeli territory <…>. Their families have been updated by the responsible officials that they have returned to the country. The Government of Israel is committed to the return of all of the hostages and missing," the statement said.
According to the list cited by the office, the released hostages are: Eitan Yahalomi (12); the Engel family - Karina Engel-Bart (51), Mika Engel (18), Yuval Engel (12); the Cunio family - Sharon Aloni-Cunio (34), Yuli Cunio (3), Emma Cunio (3); the Calderon family - Sahar Calderon (16), Erez Calderon (12); the Yaakov family - Or Yaakov (16), Yagil Yaakov (12). "The government, together with all of the security agencies, will assist them and their families," the office added.
Earlier, the Israeli army said that it had received a group of 11 Israeli hostages from Red Cross officials and was escorting them to Israeli territory, where they would undergo initial medical examinations and be reunited with relatives.
