Belgorod State University passes accreditation in a distance format for the first time

The experts received more than a terabyte of documents

March 29. /TASS/. Belgorod State University has passed the next accreditation, for the first time about 70 experts from various scientific and educational institutions assessed the university in a distance format, the press service of the university reported on Monday.

"Belgorod State University has successfully passed another large-scale state accreditation, which will result in obtaining a certificate for six years. The university was assessed by 66 experts from various scientific and educational institutions of the country. For the first time, accreditation was carried out entirely in a distance format," the statement reads. 

The experts received more than a terabyte of documents on the educational process, university programs, teacher qualifications, material and technical support in electronic form. As a result of the work, 503 out of 504 programs of secondary vocational education, higher education and postgraduate studies were recognized as complying with the federal state educational standards. Comments on one of the programs are planned to be addressed within a year, without interrupting the training of first and second year students.

“Each accreditation for a university is not only correction work and an assessment of achievements, but also the beginning of a new stage. The accreditation's results were satisfying, and they motivated us to do better", said the rector of the university Oleg Polukhin, noting that state accreditation in a distance format is a great test and a new experience for the university.

More than 24,000 students from all regions of Russia and over 3,200 foreign students from 89 countries study at Belgorod State University. The university has developed 22 joint educational programs with leading universities in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
