Twitter account of Sputnik V blocked briefly over possible ‘security breach’ from the US

Earlier, a source from the Russian Direct Investment Fund told journalists that the account on Twitter had been blocked for unknown reasons

MOSCOW, January 14/TASS/. Twitter restricted account of Sputnik V vaccine due to a possible hacking attack from the US, the official account of the Russian vaccine has blogged.

"Twitter restored access to @sputnikvaccine account and explained that they restricted the account due to a possible security breach from Virginia, USA," the tweet said.

Earlier, a source from the Russian Direct Investment Fund told journalists that the account on Twitter had been blocked for unknown reasons.

The account owners asked all their followers to contact Twitter and ask the company to restore access to the account.

Russia on August 11 was the first country in the world to have registered a vaccine against the coronavirus, called Sputnik V, produced by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
