Mariupol sees return of 300,000 residents, population expanding — Putin

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Approximately 300,000 people have already returned to Mariupol in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), with its population expanding steadily, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the Q&A session combined with his annual press conference.

"According to our estimates, at least 300,000 people have already returned to Mariupol. The population continues to grow rapidly," the president said.

The head of state added that before the beginning of hostilities, approximately 430,000 people officially lived there, and unofficially, according to local residents - 470,000.

Currently, roads, schools, social and medical facilities are being restored in Mariupol, Putin noted.
