CIS Council of Heads of Government to meet in Moscow in December — secretary general

According to Sergey Lebedev, the upcoming meeting’s agenda includes 24 various issues

MINSK, September 29. /TASS/. The next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in Moscow on December 10-11, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev said.

A regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states is being held in Minsk on Tuesday. "The meeting will focus on preparations for the Council of Heads of Government meeting in December. It will be held in Moscow on December 10-11. This is already known," he told reporters.

According to Lebedev, the upcoming meeting’s agenda includes 24 various issues. "The main issue concerns the development of the timber industry. Then there will be a number of other areas of industry, radio navigation, and a number of issues will concern the state of health and healthcare in CIS countries. The issue of the Commonwealth film festival will also be considered. We plan to launch it next year," he said.

The CIS Executive Committee earlier said that Tuesday’s meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives would discuss the results of the activities of the Council of Heads of State and Public Television and Radio Organizations of the Commonwealth countries in 2022-2025, as well as preparations for the upcoming meetings of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and Council of Heads of State, which will be held in Turkmenistan on October 7 and 9, respectively. The meeting is also expected to draft the agenda for the upcoming CIS Council of Heads of Government meeting scheduled to take place in Moscow in December. In addition, the meeting will discuss the implementation of the Free Trade Area Treaty of October 18, 2011.
