US pursuing policy of ‘elbowing out Russia geopolitically’, says senior diplomat

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov noted that "the Kiev regime’s" actions are a "proxy war being waged in the US interests"

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Washington has been pursuing a policy of "elbowing out" Russia from the geopolitical landscape, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Wednesday.

"For a long time, we have witnessed how Washington has deliberately pursued a policy of geopolitically elbowing out Russia, in a general sense," Ryabkov told TASS.

"The Kiev regime’s" actions are a "proxy war being waged in the US interests", the diplomat said.

Washington is "not after a war between NATO and Russia", but will continue providing military aid to the Ukrainians to help protect their country, the administration told a news briefing on Wednesday.
