Yakubjoni Yusufzoda is a citizen of Tajikistan and he has no criminal record

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. The tenth accused in the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall, Yakubjoni Yusufzoda, worked illegally at a construction site, the court's press service told TASS.

"Yakubjoni Yusufzoda is a citizen of Tajikistan. At the moment of his detention he was illegally working at a construction site. He has no criminal record," the press service said.

Yusufzoda is communicating with the court through an interpreter. He is charged under paragraph "b" part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (terrorist act committed by an organized group). The court was provided with evidence he is married and has three under-age children.

According to the investigation, several days before the terrorist attack, he transferred money from his bank card to an accomplice to pay for the terrorists’ accommodation. Also, he transferred part of the money to one of the perpetrators after the crime had been committed.

Yusufzoda was detained as a result of a sweeping identity check targeting illegal migrants. When detained, he offered resistance and was refusing to show his IDs and to be taken to a police vehicle. Thereby Yusufzoda committed an administrative offense under part 1 of article 19.3 of the Administrative Code.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just outside the Moscow city limits. At least 144 people were killed. According to the latest data, some 551 people were injured. All four direct perpetrators of the terrorist attack have been arrested, and five other people, as the investigators believe, were accomplices to the crime. They have also been arrested. The Investigative Committee says it has proof of the perpetrators’ connections with Ukrainian nationalists.
